This was the first project in which we were introduced to Adobe InDesign. We learned the basics of the program such as guides, grids, text formatting, importing graphics, and how to work with multiple pages. At the same time, we were introduced to the seven Gestalt principles of design and learned how we can use typographic hierarchy to guide the viewer’s eyes to see what we want them to see.
The first part of this project was about how to work with text. We were given a document with all the text information that we would need for our final product. The goal was to experiment with typography hierarchy and to find a way to emphasize the most important information from the secondary; how to use only text to direct a viewer’s eyes across the page.
