For this project, we were introduced to Adobe Animate. The objective for this final was to create a 30-second 2D Animation using the tools and concepts we learned during the semester. Before working on the animations, it was imperative that I create a script and a storyboard to clarify my vision of the project and to give me direction when it was time to animate. Although we learned how to create shapes and characters using Adobe Animate, I decided to create my characters, backgrounds, and other elements on Procreate. I quickly realized I needed to segment my characters into pieces so that I could animate them later. The background, however, I decided to create a moving background that would loop during the first scene. A similar approach was done with the clouds during the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th scene. Once everything was drawn and segmented, I then began to work on the animation using Adobe Animate. With the help of my storyboard, I was able to create one scene at a time. For the voice of the main character, I decided to record myself using a California/Surfer dialect. Mike Spicoli from Fast Times at Ridgemont High was the inspiration. Music and sound effects were all royalty-free and found online.
